Have any unauthorized boats carrying people with the intent to seek asylum in Australia arrived in the past few weeks?

I understand that. But that's a major source of refugees, from and through Indonesia.
If it stops from there, it might make the numbers more manageable from other parts of the world.
That's what I'm thinking.
OK I see where you're coming from, thanks for that explanation.

Tony Abbott & his party were swept into power to do what is being done, stopping the flow of economic refugees country hopping to Australia because their relo's are here, living off the fat of the land & the spoils of our toil who phone them & say "come on down".
Labor & the Greens are crying because he is stopping the unmitigated disaster of boats arriving illegally, captained by criminals, labor left him & his government with.
The left are crying because the Govt. is not giving them & their followers a blow by blow account of just how this is happening.
Labor & their followers are furious that Abbott has managed to stem the flow, something Labor started that turned into a catastrophe for Australia. Labor stood by helpless to act, an election was called & they were swept out along with all their failed policies.
Get used to it labbies, Labor has gone along with all their failed policies, every one. Australians voted for Tony Abbott & his policies which he & his government are sticking to.
I find it hypocritical in the extreme that the left are now crying but kept their traps shut for the 6 years Labor was in power.

Most Aussies are actually good people and consider supporters of cruelty as "unAustralian".Yet so many support The Melbourne Cup.
and yet so many support Tony Abbott & his policies.....go figure ![]()

one small sample. the large sample polls have him trailing. he won't recover, he peaked last year.

I find it strange tyhat for three months people were complaining because Mr Abbott hadn't stopped the boats, and now that he has made some progress on that policy, they're still slamming him.
No matter what he does, people criticize.
He didn't stop the boats, they criticized, condemned and gloated.
His policies now appear to have had some affect and they still criticize and condemn.
