Just another thought. There is an old wives tale that you can tell the temprement of a dog by looking inside its mouth. If it is black inside it will be an even tempered, intelligent dog. If pinkish red, it will be a scatter brained, waste of time. I dont know if this only applies to sheep dogs, or all dogs. Does anyone have any more information on this ?
Both of the dogs I have at the moment are jet black inside the mouth.

yes, i believe you can tell the temperment of some dogs by looking in their mouths,
if they lick your face they are often friendly
if they bite your face off they are usually not friendly enuff to be looking in their mouth.
