Bryce Cartwright has been granted a medical exemption from receiving the flu vaccination following a controversial stand-off over the Titans forward's 'anti-vaxxer' stance.
It comes after it was confirmed teammate Brian Kelly accepted the vaccine, after previously refusing, enabling him to return to Gold Coast training on Thursday.
hmmm..

It states, "Bryce Cartwright provided the Club with medical documentation seeking an exemption from the influenza vaccine protocol". "Cartwright reportedly claimed to have had a bad reaction to a previous vaccination as part of his application to Chief Medical Officer Young".
If this is true then fair enough. I certainly would not have the vaccine again if I previously had a bad reaction. But is his claim true, hmm?

id like to know what the 'bad reaction' was
i had the vax, i had a very painful arm for 24 hrs
i will get the vax again when i need it
a sore arm for a day is better than the full on flu
i would call my sore arm a bad reaction

The latest flu vaccine is no guarantee against all strains anyway.
You can have the vaccine and still get the flu.

Frankly, I don't understand this hysteria about the players being forced to have the flu vax. They're only playing each other, and not in front of a crowd of supporters, They've all been health checked and keeping to themselves in isolation, so what's the deal?
Besides, Fluvax is not compulsory for anyone other than healthcare or aged care workers, so why the big hammer "no jab, no play? They were never required to have it in previous years.
If they're worried about COVID...there's no vaccine against it anyway!
So...

"They've all been health checked and keeping to themselves in isolation".
No they have not. Several have breached isolation and gone shooting, partying etc. You should keep up with the news.

That was the deal the NRL put to the governments in order to be able to start up before everyone else.
Don't put forward a deal you can't/won't adhere to.

There was no mention of it in the lead up - more about his wife's position on it. I think it's suspect.
