Would you consider this to be attempting Car Jacking
The man jumps out in front of the car making the driver to stop and he then tries to get into the car and asks the driver to drive when he wants to go,.

yes.. it is a car jacking...
this is from Wiki so not exactly sure if it is all the same for Aust but...
Carjacking is the unlawful seizure of an automobile. It is also armed assault when the vehicle is occupied,
Try being a single mother in the car with your kids when a person tries to get in... omg.. so scary.. weapon or not it is a threateing act, you have no right to force your way into anyones car.
