CATHOLICS

I'm getting a headstone done in the Roman Catholic section of a cemetery, it's a shared grave. I would like a Catholic saying on there even in Latin. I've googled

Has anyone got any nice ones?

Also there's a Catholic cross isn't there? With a P on it?

I'll be back tonight. It's that slow here I might get a post or two by tonight. Thx

Re: CATHOLICS

Clair, if you really want Latin, you could go with Requiscant in pace (the traditional RIP - may they rest in peace) or Pie Jesu,  qui tollis peccata mundi, dona eis requiem. (Holy Jesus, who takes away the sins of the world, grant them rest.) Either are traditionally Carholic, but I don't know how popular they ever were for headstones.

Re: CATHOLICS

Hi she el I have used Requiscant in pace before for another family member.. the other might be a bit long as I'm paying by the letter. I think I have to cull down what I've got so far LOL

You could always just put Dona Eis Requiem.

Re: CATHOLICS

Of course if you really wanted to do it in style, I could recommend the inscription on the headstone of Mr Elephant's first Aussie ancestor:

Farewell my loving children dear.

I must lie here till Christ appears,,

Repent in time, while time you have,

There's no repenting in the grave.

(Mind you, he did have one or two sins to repent - he was a convict)
