I am a student midwife at ACU in Melbourne. As part of our studies, we are to recruit 20 women prior to 35 weeks of pregnancy to share a Continuity of Care Experience. This is a great learning experience for us to be allowed the privilege of supporting women during antenatal visits and during the early postnatal period and the women recieve the support of a eager support person.
Contact can be as little as two antenatal and two postnatal experiences or as much as you wish (and our other obligations permit).
There are no costs involved to have a student support you, any costs incurred by the student are their own responsibilty. This program is an important part of the student midwife's learning how to best support women, and hopefully, valuable support for the woman during her journey.
