Hugs Bear and Mother is 89........had a massive life........and unfortunately she is beyond speaking........hasnt really said anything for the last 18 months:(

glad to hear you are feeling a lot stronger.........i bet you wont know yourself once you bounce back fully from the op

Hi Miss and they say one lives and learns on a daily basis no matter what the age:):)

Its a complex issue with the OH........hes lead a totally different life to the one i have.....has never been in service like my late hubby etc. We have had problems before this........so am thinking when hes under pressure he cant handle it...........is very much a person that hates any alteration to its routine:(

Sounds like you are super busy..........when do you leave on your holiday or the next part of your tour:)?

Just popping in before I head to bed. The drawers are close to finished. Next is the little food cupboard that will sit between the fridge and freezer. I am starting to get excited when I see new things for the trip completed. Still lots to do but I can not do a lot until R is finished.

Only 4 weeks to go and I have to go to Townsville for a few days. So busy, busy.

oh jen, thats a hard one ..re:your mum...i hope things will soon be a comfort and you will feel at peace , just know that God is powerful and can make things easier..

I don't have to follow a special diet .pre say. just have to watch the amount of certain foods that I eat,,ie dairy and fatty food and NO spicy food-which does not worry me cos I don't like spicy food anyway!

Yeeeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaa Purps half your luck that must be marvellous going on the road.........has been my dream all my life to have a camper and just travel around with my cameras.........so far that is not happening:)

Bet you just cant wait to get back on the road and see all that new stuff:)

Hi Bear well thats not too restrictive.....and as you dont like spicey foods doesnt sound like it will be too hard to adapt to:)........i could easily live on fresh fruit and lots of it........maybe might lose some weight if i went back to my old way of eating etc:)

Had a reasonable sleep and getting ready to go down and see mother as soon as i grab a bite to eat.......of course the old boy is off to golf........Not much to report..........maybe find out today when the morphine driver is going into mother........had a feeling she may have passed over night....strange feeling really thinking its not that far off

PJ I have found since I had my gall bladder out I can eat anything. Biggest problem for me is the ulcerated oesophageus, Been on Nexium for years and do not look like coming off it any time soon.

Well today it is just pottering around home day. I need to do the floors. But they are doing massive roadworks here. And I mean massive. The work is going 24 hours a lot of the time. So you can imagine the dust. The trucks are just over the road and so is the mulch piles. So lots of dust. 😞

Going to wash the young ones car and cover it with my car cover. Should at least keep that clean for them Will just wash ours as we use them every day, so not much use covering.

Sorry for the ramblings.

Good morning to the thread:)
Well things are in motion here, Anne from assessment team was out again yesterday and he has been assessed from low care to high care, the paper work came to me yesterday for Gary and Mum to organise as to where he goes as in care, all sorts of paperwork involved re centre link and stuff!
Mum says he is to go to respite (she has to try that option) but everyone even her says it wont work as he will be too agro when he comes home, but I think she has to try it.
Gary will be up tomorrow instead of today, so will just see how it plays out.
All sorts of friction and stuff going down now with all other siblings having their say now after not wanting to get involved.
Mr Beam took off to Brisbane today saying he needs to get away from it all as it is doing his head in lol (do not blame him) atm if I could run away and hide I would, but will get there.
Thankyou everyone for thinking of me when I am sure so many of you have so much more to contend with.

Just popping in to say Gday.
Moo, I'm glad that things are moving ahead with your stepdads care, and I hope that your siblings look to the bigger picture of your mums age and health and realise that it is for the best. And especially when it's been you who has borne the brunt of caring for your mum and stepdad, and putting up with his behaviour towards you, due to the Alzeimers disease. [aggh, spelling, sorry!]

It's alright for them to talk, when they have not been in your shoes.
I'll be out this morning Dame, but if you want I can phone you later on.

JV, I echo Purps in saying that you must be physically and emotionally exhausted. I hope that your mums passing is peaceful. It is amazing how long they can hold on for........remember Tread Lizard's brother?

Pauline, so glad you are back home. A lap chole takes a few days to recover from.......even though it is keyhole surgery, it can still be painful for a few days. Just take it easy!

Purps, if you feel like washing my car too, just pop on up to Hervey Bay.
I saw a 4WD covered in red dust the other day while out shopping, and on the back window someone had written in the dust........."Dust Storm? What dust storm?"
I had to chuckle at that.

I've finally heard back from the psychologist that my GP referred me to. Not so good news in that to see him I'm still up for a $50 payment for the first visit, and $30 each visit after that. I simply can't afford it.......we can't afford it. I thought you could get a certain number of visits for free under the Medibank system if your GP referred you, but obviously I was wrong.

Paul surprised me by taking me out to lunch on Tuesday, at a lovely place near Peppers resort here in Hervey Bay, the Bayswater Bar and cafe. We had grilled barramundi and chips/salad for the 2 of us for under $25. Sat outside under the shade of the awning gazing out to sea and watching the world go by. Bliss.

Anyways, time for me to get moving. I hope every one has a good day.
