Hello JV, thank you for taking the time to help me with your valuable advice.

Looking at the pic of the bracelet I see what you mean.....as nice as my daughter's feet are, they dont make for the best marketing tool !!

When I was entering the postage details I added registered mail as an option to give prospective buyers a choice but this is, I guess , just one of area's that I haven't thought through. Will change that straight away.

I am really new to ebay, in fact I am new to making products like this for sale.

I am a Engineering Patternmaker by trade, making patterns for pressure injection die's, foundy's for metal casting etc but I have spent most of my life making sets for film and tv. I cut my teeth in the industry by building and installing the sets for shows like Countdown ( if you remember it ) but all that came to a grinding halt when I broke my back 2 1/2 years ago.

The jewellery came about from making them for my children for Christmas and birthday presents.
I spent the last 8 months doing some serious R&D getting the mechanics and coatings just right so the items that I produce are very durable.

Now I have all that down pat my new learning curve is the selling.

One more question if I may.....my nick name is Mr J.....can I change my chat room name to this instead of my trading name ?

Hi and glad to be of some help to you:) in regards to the name change that i cant answer.........i just stick to the one posting and selling id.......hopefully someone will zap in that can help you.


Ill be really interested to see how you go if you decide to sell them internationally...........dont know how you would or will go with Aussie Customs.........as i know when selling overseas that one has to fill in the form correctly.......no point in pulling the wool over their eyes.

Have you thought of doing a choker style type necklace........its a very unique product that you are marketing.......just wondering also if you could look at advertising into say one of the shooting mags........have no idea what type of dough they would be looking at for adverts

Good evening everyone. I hope you all had a really good day full of happiness and sunshine. I spent the day sleeping as I am working night shift. I find that I do not sleep quite as well during the day as I do sleeping at night. everyone recons I am always to cranky after I finish night shift and they avoid me for the first day. Still I love my job and I think that makes all the difference. To be happy doing what you do for a living is new to me. I wish I had of found this out a long time ago. I have found that since I like my job so much, I put in extra effort and my bosses are impressed with me. They praise my work and this fuels me to do even more, so things only get better. But on the down side; my family life is slipping as I am spending to much time at work and not enough with the family. I just need to find that happy medium and life will be sweet.

Anyway enough of my babbling. I hope that you all have a really great day tomorrow and keep on smiling as it keeps people guessing what you have been up too. :^O

Bella glad your breathing is better - have you considered calling 'nurse on call?' they are great (especially after surgery) -to answer questions/worries. (I rang them when my mum had a lung infection and she was having trouble breathing) - they suggested anything hot to drink and to keep away from night air - (and very reassuring ) and to call anytime thru the night etc. - really helpful.

Welcome bowen - JVH has provided some very valuable info - if I may suggest at the very top of the discussion boards menu there is a heading 'connect and learn' - if you click on the first sub heading 'Ask a Member' - there are loads of questions and answers and you can ask anything with experienced sellers on board to help very quickly. (I have used it myself and found more info there than from trying to contact ' the powers that be' lol!
As for posting id/selling id - I do believe you would need two seperate e bay accounts. (For example my OH has a seperate one to myself). Good luck!

Looks like we will be on the move. Not raining so that is a good thing. Rather glad not to have been on the road yesterday. Was talking to a traveller and he said the winds were buffeting his vehicle really badly. Best to stay off on days like that.

Bella so glad you are feeling better. It takes a lot to bounce back after surgery. Hope things continue to go well.

I think it might be a good thing I am leaving here. I put on weight and I know I have been very weak willed. So back to basics again. I have been walking again so that is a plus.

Hi and yes my son works shift work in the Police Force at the moment........and yes is a bit bearish after that night shift:).........and yes very hard to strike a happy medium but one has to be happy in what one is doing........we do spend a lot of time at work:) Have a super day:)

Hey Purps and yes its so easy to slip and let the weight creep back on.........im making a decision re the gym this week.........cant believe how much i have let myself go.........am ashamed of myself:(

Gooooooooooooooooooood morning all.

We had a downpour here yesterday so nice for the garden with over an inch of rain...........but you guessed it humid again this am and have the whole house open right up already:)

Not much planned for the day.........might try and get some sewing out and get sewing.......love a few hours at the machine.........made a few straight through type dresses for the Princess........handy for work and she loves them saves them money as well.

Hope everyone is ok..........very worried about Kezza havent heard from her in ages:(
