How many years have you been playing, Lurker?
I don't play at all, neither does hubby. Is it something you do together?
Have you played overseas?

That's a handy 9 holes tazz. Good luck for the weekend .
Thanks,
I haven't played a lot overseas. It's a bit of a hassle travelling with all your gear, but we were fortunate enough to to play around at St Andrews in Scotland last year. We weren't able to get onto the Old Course unfortunately but played the Jubilee course instead. It was a wonderful day and one I'll remember for a very long time ๐
I've been to St Andrews but haven't played there,(I played Royal Troon with my son and one of my OH's
Scots uncles when we were there visiting them).
I'm off to play a pennant match today. It's a bit pointless really, we can't make the finals now and nor can our opposition but we still have to travel an hour to play, and the same again next week. Ah well .....
That's a similar distance that our sides have to travel,(I have played in the past but not this year).
Travelling for nothing can be a downside,(but you do get to play a different course).
Good luck in your match,

Seriously.
Im living in Melbourne- sadly, the weather is not always great for golf- within walking distance to the Royal Park course...I often walk quite near the course, and watch the players on the 3rd and 4th holes..
Beautiful game..Thanks for the cheers
I know what that's like as Melbourne is a little bit like Portland but they don't get the soaked course vthat
Portland gets,(it just rains a lot which isn't ideal for golf).
Good wet weather gear is always a pr-requisite for golf in the Southern part of Vic.
So are you picking up any tips from seeing the players go around?
I started off at a 29 handicap and slowly brought it down by watching how others took their setup and how they
hit the ball,(I've learned more that way and from magazines then from the two lessons I've had),

So you're an old pro then
Mum's husband heads to Asia for golf quite regularly.
I think locally he plays twice a week, veterans and something else.

Bah! I lost on the 18th ! We had s fantastic match, with it getting to no more than 1 up to either of us all the way round. All square on the 18th tee, we noth pushed our 2nd into the free side bunker. She played a beauty to 2ft from the pin, I went too longs ms it was all over ๐ข. Great match though, I love matchplay, it's my favourite form of bathe game.
Bad luck,(better luck with your next match)
I like match play as well,(we have a 4BBB match play qualifying round next Saturday).
Played the third round of our Championships today and "blew" it big time,(91 of the stick for an eighty nett),
I was leading B grade by two shots on the scratch score and three on handicap but I'm now 7 shots behind
with one round to go and out of contention).
My draw turned into more of a hook and got me in a "bit" of trouble,

I'll still be trying today but but I'm just not playing well enough,(I've gone backwards since a good first round),
Good luck with that, enjoy the day,
