Can someone explain tweeting to me

I kind of understand tweeting. What I want to know is, can I copy the photos from other peoples tweets and use them on a website or do I need to find the original tweeter and ask their permission?

I don't know Pimpy but sometimes I have found that I haven't been able to save pics from Twitter.  I suppose they have been protected from copying somehow.

If you can save them I reckon you have free rein to use them.

If you keep the credit attached there shouldn't be a problem, if you can't find the original owner.

Try the right click > find image on google option first as that will often find the owner.

i can't see how it would be different

to copying any other content.  at least

acknowledge the author/owner.

"In general, the photographer and NOT the subject of a photograph is the actual rights holder of the resulting photograph."

From Twitter.

You should try to obtain permission from the rights holder. People can complain to Twitter if stuff is used without permission.

"What Types of Copyright Complaints Does Twitter Respond To?

Twitter will respond to reports of alleged copyright infringement, such as allegations concerning the unauthorized use of a copyrighted image as a profile photo, header photo, or background, allegations concerning the unauthorized use of a copyrighted video or image uploaded through our media hosting services, or Tweets containing links to allegedly infringing materials. Note that not all unauthorized uses of copyrighted materials are infringements (see our Fair Use page for more information)."

Here is a picture which has been retweeted 30 odd times. How do I find the photographer?
