Cancer questions :(

Hi all you hooligans 🙂 Long time - hope all is good.

 I dont know where else to ask anyone so here I am.............

Can anyone tell me if they have experience with?:

A beautiful sister girl, who i call Mum (but clearly isnt) has just been diagnosed with both liver and bowel cancer.

So my question: What is this? 2 cancers found at same time? Same cancer in 2 spots? Do liver and bowel share the same cancer?

If someone says they have bowel cancer is that just a cancer that can get in the bowel?

I know those questions sound dumb but she is asking me (for some reson people think I know everything and I really know very little) so I am asking you lot cos there are heaps of you and youve been through stuff.

Doc has told her that they wont be deciding anything for 3 weeks - is this normal??

Any one know this stuff? This sucks 😞

Anyway this is getting under my skin now so I will leave.

I'm sure lobs knows already but I just wanted to point out that these days we should be respecting other people's culture and their right to have them....especially professionals.

And you would be correct, However that is NOT what I said or even suggested

NO culture is a hangup - the very concept is ludicrous - and ALL people have cultural hangups - whether they realise it or not.

Anway, none of this is helping Lobs, who is a very dear friend of mine and, I'm quite sure, understands exactly what I meantt .

 Koori people have cultural hangups regarding doctors and hospitals - as Lobs hherself has explained in this thread - and a Koori liaison officer would understand that better than a GP.

But for everyone else that read that sentence?

May not help lobs but I will not let something as mindless and possibly hurtful to others go. I know better and will not apologise for speaking up about it.

Lobs, that sucks big time. Write a list of questions that you and your Mum want answers to and take that with you to the next appointment. Sending you hugs.

Hi, don't post often but always luv your posts ( not this one though )...first and foremost don't go to Dr google you will only end up more confused and worried.

As Purple H has said ring the help line vic cancer council they will be able to give you a lot of info over the phone and alleviate any fears ASAP All confidential , will also have kauri info etc also give you info re three week wait and advice...that is what they have been set up to do, so patients and families have a bit more info before they go back to doctors etc.

Sadly with the Public Hospital system you go on the waiting list and wait your turn. My OH was on the list for T4 advanced oral cancer, the wait was to be 6 weeks for surgery. Had I not fought every inch of the way he would not have had his surgery within that time frame. Prior to surgery lots of tests need to be done, all these tests and consoltations take time. The wait is very traumatic for both the cancer patient and their family, stay strong Lobs, keep positive and never forget to keep smiling. I waited 3 weeks for a cone biopsy for breast cancer, then another 3 weeks for sugery.
