Im so sorry to hear that you have lost your beloved Dad.

I lost my Dad five weeks ago and I truly feel your pain.

I will be including you and your dear Dad in my prayers as I find this helps me deal with my loss.

I'm so pleased dad had a great day yesterday, lots of visitors and he was in a great mood. He suffered a massive stroke later that evening and didn't regain consciousness. But he had all his daughters, brothers, granddaughter and his lovely partner with him surrounding his bed, holding his hand, telling funny stories about him. At the very end he had all the females in his life with him which we all thought ironic cos he was a blokey bloke and preferred males :^O

One of the last things he said to me was that he wished he'd had a son but got 4 daughters instead. He was an athlete and footy player for the AFL and so wanted a boy to follow in his footsteps. None of his daughters were into sport no matter how hard he tried. :^O But when dad told me he wanted a son I just said, compassionately "I know you did dad" and we smiled at each other.

He is free from suffering now and there is no more resentment or anger or blame, we resolved that weeks ago and that's what keeps me going.

I can do this.

Cat, if I were able to choose the way I eventually go, it would be exactly as you just described. What a peaceful, loving and perfectly wonderful way to pass. Knowing that all those that you love so much are there, holding you and supporting you and loving you right back. I hope I'm as lucky as your dad. ♥

I know that probably comes across as a bit insensitive to some. But sorry, it sounds beautiful. I know you see it that way, Cat. I can see that.

My deepest condolences Ms Mioux. I am glad ur Dad passed so beautifully and peacefully. I feel sure in my heart that his heart was filled with pride as he passed. To be surrounded by his wonderful family and a daughter who is such and inspiration to so many.
