Cat, this statement has me a bit worried. It sounds as if you are looking for faults/weaknesses in yourself that made you a target.
Honey there is no such thing as 'a man like Mr Ex'. He is not a 'type'. He was attracted to you for the same reason that any other man would be attracted to you - you are a warm, generous, affectionate and physically attractive woman.
Only he really knows why he decided to throw all that away on Skankyho, but it was certainly something within his own psyche that made him do it - it had absolutely nothing to do with any weakness or imperfection in your makeup.
I am only guessing here. but I suspect that over the years too many people in your life have tried to make you feel guilty or responsible for their own shortcomings. The only person whose life and decisions you are responsible for is yourself - and you do a damn fine job of handling that reponsibility.:-x
