KFC applies for liquor licence for a new outlet in Parramatta
Fast food retailer KFC has confirmed it is trying to open a store in western Sydney that will sell alcohol alongside its usual fried chicken products.
Professor Daube said advertising had a strong effect on children and they would associate the KFC brand with alcohol if the liquor licence was granted.
"There is very substantial evidence that kids are influenced by alcohol advertising and that's why there is so much pressure to curb even more the kind of alcohol to which kids are exposed," he said.
"What we are seeing every day at the moment is the KFC Big Bash [cricket tournament] being promoted on television and for kids to be associating that with alcohol takes us into the realms of the absolutely irresponsible."
Will the Cricket Board still be able to accept sponsorship from KFC if they sell alcohol?

Is there still an alcohol zone in Westfield Parramatta?
If the new KFC is going into that area it makes sense to apply for a licence.

Makes you wonder doesn't it..........underage, teenage drinking, the worry, the problems, how to stop it or at least curb it -
then some Mickey Mouse pops up and sais HEY - I KNOW - lets make alcohol avialable in a well known fast food outlet that in the past has had Kids in mind, we have a playground and host birthday parties, lets cash in and let mum and dad get **pithed* while the kids learn what is really important to the adults.
Like there aren't enough alcohol friendly places already.
