China seems still open for trading

I bought an item from a Chinese seller - was dispatched the same day , so despite the current deadly national calamity is reassuring, when considering a worst case scenario,  to find that at least regarding ebay , trading is as normal , which implies impressive resiliance of the citizens of that nation.

Without naming where I think in some other countries there would have been serious social breakdown and dangerous zombie events.

Doesn't mean the Chinese government is gunna let anything leave the country.

Or that our government is gunna let it in either.

Also nothing happens for a month in February due to the Chinese New Year - everyone travels home to family for celebrations.

I will be interested to see how long it actually takes to arrive though.

I bought an item from China on 25th Jan.  Here’s the tracking so far (screengrab from just minutes ago)

Seems the virus is quite fragile outside the host environment , so i do not imagine it being active after a 2 week journey

took awhile to get from dispatch to first fascility - suppose that makes sense , they more than likely had to negociate around neighbourhood quarantine restrictions.

there were early tracking events that dropped off the pop up screen when I hit the tracking number in eBay.

I went back and called up that eBay tracking again and clicked on the tracking number.  Went to another screen and this is what it showed.  The item has been on the move for some weeks.

More importantly, how often has Corona virus spread from the air hermetically sealed in packages out of china? I'd rather no exports for the time being.

You think the average Chineses eBay seller wants us to share their misery? Why would they do it otherwise?

I've seem some 'interesting' theories in my time, and that one is near the top of the list.
