I bought an item from a Chinese seller - was dispatched the same day , so despite the current deadly national calamity is reassuring, when considering a worst case scenario, to find that at least regarding ebay , trading is as normal , which implies impressive resiliance of the citizens of that nation.
Without naming where I think in some other countries there would have been serious social breakdown and dangerous zombie events.

I suppose it depends on where in China you bought from. It could be that factories & warehouses in Wuhan are facing shutdowns but China is a big country and most people in other centres should be fine. To put it in perspective, there have only been about 1500 deaths. When you consider the size of the Chinese population, it's not a lot.
All that could change if the virus really takes hold and spreads more rapidly & widely.
This unfortunately would be doing a lot of damage in China, to their sales and also their tourist industry.

Apart from the effects of the virus it is still within the shutdown period for Chinese New Year.
I would be very surprised if ebay sellers are bucking the trend of the whole country closing for several weeks from late January to mid February.
