and by whose authority can a priest (a man whose only claim to fame is 5 or 6 years in a university / seminary) forgive you of all sin?  What a load of twaddle.

so you get upset when others call you names because of what you believe in  and put down your beliefs but its ok for you to call what others believe twaddle?

I am calling the belief 'twaddle' - not the people who believe it.

I have many friends who are Catholic - it's not their fault they have been misled by their Priests who they should be able to trust.

Re: Christians

' existence - HIS DEATH WAS ALL IT WAS ABOUT. HIS DEATH which fulfilled the prophecy about the coming Messiah'

A bit vague though don't you think for a monumental event.Next week, next year,50,000 years from now? Get on with it for Christ's sake 😄

i dont think you should complain about people having a go at christianity, you do the same thing as others do, you put down what someone believes in

You obviously don't understand -

1 there was a prophecy that a Messiah would come and that he would be 'nailed to a tree / stake' and that he would 'take on the sins of the world' and that 'he would be in the grave 3 days and 3 nights'

and

2. there was a fulfilment of that prophecy.

Not vague, not next week, not 50,000 years from now - 2015 (+-6) years ago.

Re: Christians

If he had wanted us to celetbrate his birth, he would have made it obvious WHEN that date was.

That's rather a presumptuous statement, Rabbit. Maybe as long as we remember his death it doesn't really bother him one way or another whether or not  we choose to  celebrate his birth..
