i was under the asumption disposing of human waste in the general rubish was against the law.
if thats so there is tones of soiled nappies being dumped into waste that shouldnt be.
i bet if i pooed in a bucket all the time then tipped it into my big green bin ready for collection by council and they got 'wind' of it.
wow, and what a stink that would be!
id be in big trouble!
and yet families all over are doing exactly that by putting old nappies in the bin!

Cloth nappies here as Dom says, waste went in the toilet.
I only had the one, but she had four, and she also used cloth.
and you did the right thing, re usable cloth nappies and did the messy business of cleaning the .... well making em clean to use again.
but now days you would be in the monority
the disposable nappy is the popular choice and they, including the poo, go into landfill by the tons every day.
i saw those 'chaser' guys doing a reduce waste thing years ago, they created a pile of used disposables for just 1 kid for a year, it was humongous!
how many kids are there creating the same pile every year?

Well, you know, it's not just the babies. It's the other end of the spectrum, with the aged using disposable "pull-ups".

David - most Mum's distribute the waste - then dispose of the disposable - they are not Neanderthal.
Just because it is disposable - doesn't mean it is not ' emptied ' before disposal.
Geez.

so true
we invented the darn things with no thought of the 'what do we do with them after we use them'
they talk about reducing landfill
well imagine no disposable nappies going into landfill, what a difference it would make
maybe homes which use em should have a bin for them, and they get recycled properly?
