i hate seeing any animal killed by cars, right now the sleepy lizards are on the move and there are dozens squished on the roads. i watch the road so carefully so as to avoid hitting them but i see so many i think some hit them on purpose and they are the sweetest things when in my garden.
sometimes i see them with their mate in convoy.
now snakes are a different matter, i dont try to run em over but it doesnt bother me when i see one squished.
i definately dont want them in my garden.

Hit a wood duck once, now I was breaking to avoid it, and it was doing its best to fly out of the way. Anyway when I got home, about five minutes later and got out to open the gate, the duck hopped down from the bullbar and flew away.

On the way to work one day a magpie swooped after another magpie...very low in front of my car. I thought they had both flown away but when I got to work I found the second magpie hanging from the car grille with one leg stuck in it. The bird looked dead but I managed to free its leg and put the bird down in a safe sheltered spot while I wondered what to do next.
I opened up the office but couldn't find anyone else and with no phone books in the place and a lot of Telstra help lines blocked (I don't have a smart phone) I decided to commence the tedious process of logging in on my computer. It takes forever but I figured I could find the phone number for WIRES or the RSPCA once I had logged on.
While I waited for the computer to 'wake up' I went back to the office entrance to see if anyone else had arrived.....instead of which to my amazement I saw the magpie suddenly come to life, give itself a good shake and fly off! I was so relieved.
