Comments for the nature thread.

I really like the garden posted by Kopenhagen. My new backyard is a blank slate I would love to find the time to make something like that. It reminds me of a Japanese garden. If I cound get the tree laying on its side in Dsk's pic...it'd be great!

The Moeraki boulders posted by Am*3...bit of a mystery those things. Millions of years ago the oceans were red due to a high iron content. Stromatolites (sort of the early version of coral reefs) formed all over the planet producing oxygen creating a rust in the ocean which formed the iron deposites we dig up today and changed it's colour to what it is now.

Mentioned here at 16:37 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xsn3wpVAcjk

It's possible those boulders are Stromatolites. Maybe your drier hotter weather caused the smoother shape than elsewhere.

Wow! So everyone WAS sooking!

And looking back at that thread everyone kudo,d the kitten pic......this all looks planned behind the scenes.

Can I ask what the point of it all was? Rather **bleep**y IMO.....some people wanted to keep the threads going not play **bleep**ed up games.

Nothing going on behind the scenes from what I saw.

Pimpy was away and busy, now she's back.   It wasn't her that behaved in such a way as to turn people off.

Huh! I came here to post a photo and forgot   :D:D

i have no reason to play any games, I kudo'd the kitten pic because it cracked me up and reminded me of how i came to be the grandmother of a hairball, i assume others found it cute and amusing too.

Re: Comments for the nature thread.

I kudod the kitten because of the story that went with it. There is nothing more persistent than children when they have their mind set on getting it.

Many of the other photos, while good, didn't really fit the definition of Persistence in my  mind, (except for Wally)

Re: Comments for the nature thread.

the kitty did look cute though the piccy didn't depict the theme just by looking at it and wasn't amusing really

there were far more worthy winning pics entered, but theres no real prizes anyway

Signatures suck.

Re: Comments for the nature thread.

I didn't.................... I am not a cat person. Only ever had 2 cats and never will have another one.

I thought the theme was difficult and I had no pics like that.

Contribute, look, vote......... or not.  I can't see why anyone wants to make a drama out of it.

Re: Comments for the nature thread.

maybe we should ask the mods to add a little space next to the kudos where we can defend ourself why we gave that kudos.

Re: Comments for the nature thread.

...or maybe it would be easier to ban cats, dogs and babies from the photo threads altogether

Re: Comments for the nature thread.

There wouldn't be much point in that?

should photos stand alone with no explanation?

If they did, we might then turn it into a chat thread when we HAVE to know where it was taken
