I really like the garden posted by Kopenhagen. My new backyard is a blank slate I would love to find the time to make something like that. It reminds me of a Japanese garden. If I cound get the tree laying on its side in Dsk's pic...it'd be great!
The Moeraki boulders posted by Am*3...bit of a mystery those things. Millions of years ago the oceans were red due to a high iron content. Stromatolites (sort of the early version of coral reefs) formed all over the planet producing oxygen creating a rust in the ocean which formed the iron deposites we dig up today and changed it's colour to what it is now.
Mentioned here at 16:37 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xsn3wpVAcjk
It's possible those boulders are Stromatolites. Maybe your drier hotter weather caused the smoother shape than elsewhere.

I don't vote for that winner either (maybe I didn't get the memo, lol 🙂 )
It might have been cute, but the orange cat always trying to nail Lions cat was persistant...so I voted for that one.
I mean....check him out!

i was saying that i find it ridiculous that ppl here start to defend themselves why they kudoed a certain pic.
i am serious though about banning cats, dogs and babies.
there is already more than enough of that all over the Kindergarten Spirit.

Wow! So everyone WAS sooking!
And looking back at that thread everyone kudo,d the kitten pic......this all looks planned behind the scenes.
Can I ask what the point of it all was? Rather **bleep**y IMO.....some people wanted to keep the threads going not play **bleep**ed up games.
Some people wanted to keep the thread going according to their own agendas of Control, dominance, themes for mates, themes for egos..
.
The thread is supposed to be an Enjoy life, smell the roses thread. It is not a photographic competition, it is not about fancy lenses and perfectly framed/staged/propped photos. It is not about making fake images and trying to pass them off as a photo. It's not about Look at Me Im the best photgrapher here so you should all listen to me.
It's about taking a look around, be more aware of your surroundings, see the beauty in this amazing world.
My favourite photos (besides tendes beach bum) are the ones where the posters have done just that.
Twinkle stars little broken egg shell in the Blue theme
Icys refelction in a shop window on the way to work, in the Reflection theme
Someone (sorry can't remember who) who took a shot out of a moving vehicle at a wheel for the Round theme
Lionroses letterbox with the number 2 on it for the Two theme.
Crystals .... well everything of crystals
That's what the challenge is about for me.
It's also an opportunity to learn more about our cameras for those of us that want to, get new ideas from others etc
It's also an opportunity to look back through your photo collections and reminisce and share, and we all love doing that.
The past few themes have been very difficult to take new photos or even find old ones to match. That is why Flashie chose Nature. She thought it was something that would get everyone contributing again. Which it has.
Was I having a sook? Yes. When PH decided to go it alone with a thread without consulting me at all I did think, well bugger yers then. But I had arranged with Chuk to take over for awhile while I cleared my head. Something you people don't know about me is nearly every day I think about being dead. The past month I have gone from just wishing it to planning it. My OH is aware of this and we are dealing with it, but sometimes I need to step away from cyberland and the ridiculous fighting, and sulking, and hissy fits because they do my head in. And I'm sorry if I offend you, but sometimes I do need to ask if your photo meets the challenge rules.

actually some of us have tried to pick a theme that excludes dogs, cats, and babies but someone always managed to get them in there

I definitely kudoed the kitten because of the story 😄 Are we there yet, are we there yet, are we there yet?

Pimpy, you have emphasized my thoughts on enjoying what is around us. I have enjoyed "watching" peoples intepretations of ideas in the thread. I enjoyed your collages especially. And I want you to continue keeping an eye out for Tende's subject. I also enjoy your humour.

Many of the other photos, while good, didn't really fit the definition of Persistence in my mind, (except for Wally)
Hey Pimpy
I have retired Wally -
I will miss him though, it was a bit of a fun personal challenge to come up with some ridiculous 'story' so I could include him in each weeks contest.
Only meant to be fun so hope it wasn't the cause of any of what went on. Have to admit, I was OFF topic more than I was on topic thats for sure LOL

For Pimpy
Another one from Kooralbyn. Hubby took this one. It's appears he got them to look on cue lol.
