Comments for the nature thread.

I really like the garden posted by Kopenhagen. My new backyard is a blank slate I would love to find the time to make something like that. It reminds me of a Japanese garden. If I cound get the tree laying on its side in Dsk's pic...it'd be great!

The Moeraki boulders posted by Am*3...bit of a mystery those things. Millions of years ago the oceans were red due to a high iron content. Stromatolites (sort of the early version of coral reefs) formed all over the planet producing oxygen creating a rust in the ocean which formed the iron deposites we dig up today and changed it's colour to what it is now.

Mentioned here at 16:37 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xsn3wpVAcjk

It's possible those boulders are Stromatolites. Maybe your drier hotter weather caused the smoother shape than elsewhere.

Re: Comments for the nature thread.

Some of the posts were empty, just boxes with red crosses through them

Stawkas was one, and there were a couple of others. I assumed the posters had deleted their photos and didn't want to play, so I asked the mods to delete the empty posts.

The posts must have shown as empty to the mods as they did remove the posts.

It's just occured to me the pictures may have been hosted in PhotoBucket and it had glitch or maybe were a victim of an ebay glitch

If that's the case, I'm so,so sorry. I'd love to see the photos back in the thread, particularly the Eichhörnchen

Re: Comments for the nature thread.

Imastawka -- was your photo one of an ocean /bay scene? That was a good one, it had a quite a few kudos.

I noticed one of my photos was first on page 2 then it ended up on page 1.

I posted a small parcel last week without any stamps on it.. Now that is a dumb thing to do.

Re: Comments for the nature thread.

Yep am3.  It was The Edge of the World in Tassie.  The actual photography wasn't

that good, but it had a lot of interesting driftwood on the beach.  It had about 9 kudos

I think.  Small fry in the big picture.   Pun intended.    LOL

edit;  hope you had return address on that.   Buyer will not be happy to pay

(Low DSR's for you I'm afraid)

Re: Comments for the nature thread.

He's not cooking for me thanks.  Knows nothing about food handling

and gives me food poisoning  erk.

Foot massage - also not likely.

Re-post - nah,  leave it to the knowledgeable ones
