Cornice job

Would like some opinions please.  Recently had some renovations done.  There was a few issues with the cornice work during the time and it was mentioned to the builder and fixed somewhat..  The last work was cornice to the kitchen area.  I was informed that the job wouldn't be perfect due to some sagging to the ceiling.  ok... .I noticed the cornice guy re measuring every piece that he had cut a few weeks earlier and new pieces had to be ordered.   Every piece he fitted was taking forever and I was getting impatient as I wanted the job done especially when they were on an hourly rate.  Final piece goes up I notice that there is a join.  Asked the builder and he said some measurement was wrong and I pulled him up and told him that there was a full length that had been cut a few weeks earlier.  Cornice guy stuffs up again.  Paid the bill as I was just so over it.  Today I'm ready to paint the cornice and notice that the 850mm join  isn't straight and has a difference of 15mm from one side to the other.

I don't want them back as it didn't end well.  Should I get someone else in to pull that section down and redo it with 1 piece and send the builder the bill.  Or just get over it

Re: Cornice job

Ooops! Thanks for pointing out pigeon hole cupboards as depicted in pic joono. Thought was top part of a double front main door and the pigeon hole/cupboards-thought these were little windows.....

Still think it unacceptable work. I would definitely not be happy and would try to get money back/compensation/get botcher operater to pay to get done properly. My opinion.

This would bug me forever if I just left  and did nothing.....even trying to get someone else to 'fix' would not completely cover up the original crime committed here

Re: Cornice job

Well you would be amazed by what I learnt to live with Paints.  The good news is that I finally got a lot of them fixed by the builder nearly ten years later.

Re: Cornice job

Thanks for your replies.  I have sent the builder the pic and mentioned that the 850mm piece wasn't even fitted straight (as if he didn't know).  I advised that I will have to  get it rectified before it can be painted.

Don't expect a reply.    It cost me $200 (4 hours @$50) for the cornice to be cut . 10 hours labour to fit it and a poor job.  Plus the cost of the cornice.  Approx $800.  With much frustration and stress to me.
