Seems an infection leaves one without a sense of smell , so maybe a quick test is to subject the target to smelling salts - now if the target splutters and recoils then is ok , if no reaction then good reason for further tesing . This should work regardless of any outward signs , so great at the pre-school , primary school etc

However such testing has not been clinically evaluated as a standard casual test

It's a stupid test.
I have asthma, emphysema and pulmonary fibrosis.
I can hold my breath for 10 seconds, easy, without coughing.
Guess I'm doin' alright.
Doing ventriloquism while drinking a glass of water might be a better test.

If you can do that without coughing, you don't have the virus. Please stop spreading quackery. It is irresponsible and dangerous.
The symptom chart referenced from that link should included " Death : sometimes "

Ok. Ppl will do what they feel comfortable with.
"I have asthma, emphysema and pulmonary fibrosis".
Happy to hear you're doin' alright. I understand your panic about catching COVID 19 a bit better now.

If you can do that without coughing, you don't have the virus. The experts say that if you can't do that, it could be due to a large number of other health issues,
Of course it could.
and is NOT a test for coronavirus.
Yeah. ..Still.
If you had no previous respiratory condition, and suddenly one morning you cough while trying to hold your breath, Same goes on for a few days in row, and all around you an epidemic is raging that causes a severe pneumonia-like disease, called Coronavirus, you'd start getting a bit suspicious, wouldn't you?

You could also just have a cold

Well, that's why it's not a credible test for coronavirus ๐

Smokers who keep smoking may leave themselves open for more risk.
(Tried to post a link but not sure how to here).
