just like cancer, until you have it.

you say you cant catch cancer, hmmm, not totally true, smokers catch it, passive smokers catch it too.

if you mum or dad had it then you may catch it too.

my mum had it, my brother had it, i may well get it.

.

You do not "catch" cancer David.   You have a genetic predisposition to developing cancer because of your family history.

Re: Coronavirus update

It is possible David was using the word "catch" differently. Some cancers can be caused by bacteria and viruses, but not transmitted from one person to another. There have been cases where people have developed cancer because donor organs they received were from people with a cancer history. This is very rare now. So cancer cannot be transmitted from person to person in the sense that a contagious disease can. I suspect David did not mean it that way.

... and possibly lifestyle choices.

Definitely nothing to do with a communicable disease that could kill millions.

David seems to be confusing numbers of victims with the causes of deaths. A typical response of conspiracy theorists or those with no grasp of logic.

The phrase " develop cancer" might be more accurate

Re: Coronavirus update

The headline is wrong. Those numbers are new infections, state by state, not deaths.

Re: Coronavirus update

I make my opinion by looking what is happening in other countries; what steps they took and how their cases grow exponentially.  We are few weeks behind them, so we should know  what is coming.  People spending this weekend on beaches means overwhelmed hospitals in the next few weeks.  Thankfully, our state government knows what is coming, and I believe they are converting the exhibition centre into an infirmary
