Nobody claimed it was contained.  WHO said the Chinese are dealing with it as well as can be under the circumstances = with new unknown virus. 

There is plenty of evidence that Americans knew before end of last year, WH was notified and ignored it.

WHO has never said the virus can be easily controlled!  On the contrary they kept saying it has a pandemic potential, which was 100% correct on the info they had.  If they declared pandemic too early and nothing happened, they would have been abused too.  China never said it can be easily controlled; locking down whole province is hardly "easy".  Until this moment Chinese people have gone through 3 months of lockdowns, and severe restrictions are continuing.   People lost their jobs and businesses.  But they have brought it under control; their new cases are imported with people coming back home, but as they still have quarantine, it is not getting out of hand.

For the public from WHO:

1.Recognize that COVID-19 is a new and concerning disease,but that outbreaks can managed with the right response and that the vast majority of infected people will recover.

I can't access it because I use an adblocker and you are contradicting yourself when you say everyone knew

about it in early January but China claims that their first reported case was the 30th of December and now you

and Forbes are saying America knew before China's fist case?

I don't know where you are getting your info from but try reading it from the horses mouth which is

what WHO sent to every country in regards to the Coronavirus:

For China that's totally easy as it's a totalitarian Government so whatever they say the citizens

better do quickly or face tough consequences such as internment or in the case of the ones that

It also brings into question whether the WHO report had to pass through China's assessment before it

could be published as they praise China in a continual way that seems way overboard.

Far worse is and has happened in other countries due to what happened in CHINA and people are dying so

their "distress" is something they are dealing with quickly whereas other countries could take years to start

coming back from this.

Thanks to their lack of sharing correct information and allowing millions to travel from their country to infect

others the deaths are rapidly heading towards the 200 thousand mark and don't look like stopping for a while.

The other worry is North Korea who also has a totalitarion Government weren't reporting any cases and they

share a border with China.
