Jobseeker is treated the same as the old dole and is not tax free although if it is the only income a person has it is below the tax threshold anyway.

However the article is about Jobkeeper which is definitely NOT tax free....the only concession is that it is GST free.

Probably the crisis will not drag on for a year anyhow - would be nice if the suppliment became permanent , then only 20% under the poverty line ...
