Well, we're getting conflicting info aren't we! Accepted news outlets are saying actual deaths are higher while other accepted news outlets are saying that deaths reported related to COVID19 are actually from other medical conditions. There are also accounts, verified accounts of multiple mis-.diagnosis being made.
It seemingly goes both ways.

No, it does not not go both ways; there is NO scientific reliable, respectable media publication that claims that there is overstating of COVID19 cases and death. There is a consensus that cases are understated. For many reasons. Some old peole die at home and are never properly diagnosed, especially in countries like India, Pakistan and some in Africa. In the USA and in UK for a long time people who died in nursing homes were not counted at all. Also Trump deliberately limited number of test kits being released, and number of people with very strong symptoms could not be tested. He also was not allowing one of the ships to dock and people taken of "because it would make the number of COVID go up". Just watch him how he will desperately try to suppress the numbers from now on till the election. Especially since testing of the most promising vaccine has been temporarily suspended because of bad reaction.
The claims that COVID19 is a hoax are only perpetuated by the gutter press, whose job is it to create controversy, which gets people buy they publications and that makes their money. They write/broadcast from safety of their mansions but want the economy to open, never mind that it will mean people will get sick and many would die; there are plenty of workers around, and plenty that could be imported if needed. Trump said it early on that maybe 100 or 200 thousands my die in the USA; well he was wrong, before this is over there will be many more than 200 000 dead over there, that milestone will be reached by end of next week.
To suggest that doctors all over the world are deliberately falsifying death certificates is ridiculous and insulting. Doctors and nurses are those faced with the horrors of people drowning in the sticky mucus and blood in the ICU, knowing that there is a good chance they will get infected and end up in the same situation. Many do and many are dying, and it is not easy to mistake COVID for something else; remember early on in China when nobody knew what is going on, and the Chinese doctors in Wuhan were reporting "strange cases of pneumonia; we never seen anything like this before"?. It's unlike anything else.
And the Big Pharma is throwing billions into trying to get vaccine and possible treatment, but most so far have no guarantee of ever getting any money back.
Yes, there is lot of problems with the drug industry, but without all the modern drugs many of us would not be here.

not satisfied with ripping into the victorians now the PM is causing trouble in queensland!
and yet its his sweetheart in NSW whos govt is teetering on the brink of disaster.
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk hits back at Scott Morrison for 'bullying' intervention on coronavirus funeral exemption
maybe scomo should be trying to get the 2 sides having a hissy fit in NSW to grow up and behave?

Maybe Palaszczuk should stop being so heartless and nitpicking.
And it wasn't an exemption. That was the problem.

The woman would not or could not go into quarantine, so she was not allowed to go to the funeral to potentially infect people. Dead people do not care about how many people are at their funeral, but people dying from COVID die alone with just fully covered medical staff tending to them. Politicians have more pressing things to deal with in this moment than having to examine individual cases of people trying to get special treatment.
If we have any hope of re-opening our country we need stop people moving around as much as possible, and stop making exceptions on compassionate grounds. Scomo knows that, and keeps our borders shut with thousands of citizens not being able to get back home.
And we are so lucky, that unlike some other heads of states, our PM and the premiers all take the pandemic seriously. We are also lucky that we are lagging behind other countries and so we have a bit of notice as to what is happening. In this moment the infection in India is absolutely sky rocketing, cases in Europe are also climbing, UK is tightening restrictions, and America is out of control; with only few weeks since kids returned to schools they have 5 dead teachers, and the colleges have hundreds of infected students on the campuses. If we do not start taking it more seriously, and stop complaing about inconveniences, things will only get worse.

Looks like the saliva test might start opening things up
but some experts are saying it's only 84-87% accurate
while the barbaric method ( nasal swab ) is 95% accurate.
It's funny ( almost ) that the local COVID testing clinic suggested
that I have 2 tests because the swab was 75% accurate.
Our lives are in the hands of these 'experts'.
When you strip it all down, if nasal swabbing is not 100% accurate
then why not take the lightning fast and super cheap alternative test out for a run.
The cynic in me is whispering
"Maybe the pathology labs don't want to miss out on $200.00+ nasal swab testing".

The woman was from Canberra! We haven't had a COVID case in TWO months. Which is something Queensland can't lay claim to. The CHO claimed that Canberra is near to Batemans Bay, a 'known' hotspot that hasn't had a case for a month. Batemans Bay is almost 150km from Canberra, and not many Canberrans go there in winter. It's a summer thing.
So it comes back to heartlessness and bureaucracy. Something the Qld Chief Health Officer, now on holidays, seems to parrot.
Especially when she claims it's okay to give economic exemptions as Qld needs the money. Where's the public health concern there?
