No. Supermarkets and chemists are the shops that are still allowed to be open in Italy.

Think about it. No government can allow the supply to food and drink to be cut off completely or there will be enormous civil unrest and violence.

The shortage of just toilet paper has shown us that. That cannot be allowed to extend to basics.

Coronavirus update

International Evangelical English Church; Gran Canaria

Hi Everybody.
I post this in good faith and believe that what I am sharing is from reliable sources.
It would appear that from midnight tonight (Sat 14th March) Gran Canaria is in lockdown.
All retail activity is suspended apart from businesses selling foodstuffs, pharmacies, tobacconists, suppliers of IT equipment, newsstands, hairdressers and dry cleaners.
Museums, sports venues, bars and restaurants must close, with the exception of those that deliver meals to people’s homes.
You can only leave your home/residence for the following reason,
1.You can only be on the streets if you are buying food or going to pharmacy for medication
2.Visiting a bank
3.Going to work or returning from work where working from home impossible and on minimum staff.
4.Home helps and carers helping dependent people
5. Any creditable or essential reason.

Stay safe, don’t panic, follow hygiene directions, keep the faith ,look out for each other and look out especially for those in need and those in vulnerable categories.

Blessing Gavin.

Stay safe Tommy.

On the situation in Italy, Kate Langbroek has relocated there and gave an interview re the lockdown.

Being Italy, the tobacconists are allowed to stay open.

People are not allowed out of the home unless it's to food shop. Police are inspecting bags to make sure.

Scott Morrison is giving details on the latest rules at the moment, on channel 51 (possibly others too).

Suggested bans are no longer just suggestions.

Yeah, here too, in the big smoke.

Bloody ridiculous.

I'm keeping an eye on it, so far we're ok.

Hubs likes to wash his hands with liquid handwash, while I use the good old cake of soap.

Guess what? There's no liquid handwash on the shelves, but plenty of soap!

Woman LOL

I tend to prefer soap in the bathroom and laundry  but I use hand wash in the kitchen cause its more convenient to use when I am cooking
