Frankly, I do not care what some ignorant morons think; I wear my mask when in shops, and try to keep distance from people.

or better still, STAY HOME especially if you live in one of the Melb HOT SPOT areas

I do not live anywhere near the hot spots, and I do need to go to the shop now and then.  usually about once a week or 10 days.

But what has had authorities worried over the past week is the recent increase in cases of

"community transmission", where the source of the infection is unknown.

So the possibility of some not knowing they have it and passing it on or they have it and aren't willing to own up or

do the test?Who knows.gif

Getting tested is not that easy in this moment.  My daughter took her child to be tested and there was a long wait, about an hour, and half of that time they had to stand outside in this bitter cold.  Then she decided to have herself tested as well, and she had to wait for over an hour again.  Both came back negative.

To put the Victorian outbreak in perspective.  The USA had +36,646 new cases in the past 24 hours, we (Australia) had 29, out which 18 were in Victoria.  That's about 1,250times as many.  OK, Australia has population 25,500,000 and the USA 331,002,651, that makes it about 13x as many.  But per capita it is still 100 as many per day, and I won't even bother to compare the one death over the past 4 weeks, to the tens of thousands in the USA.

Why didnt she get tested at the same time as her daughter?  I agree the stats BUT I am still being very careful.  Thankfully I dont live anywhere near Melb. or in a holiday area. The number of tourists who usually drive through my town is minimal , mainly cause they cant get in SA

Trouble is some of the leaders never fought a fight strongly enough in the first place.  Trump,  Johnson,  and Bolsinaro whose reaction has been laughable, not surprising with the crime rate and corruption in Brazil .  Even today I think they are all in denial with their heads buried in the sand.

imo Australia has fought the good fight and is still doing it.  I am impressed with Daniel Andrew's quick reaction to the outbreaks in Vic  I doubt he could do more.  It's up to the people and while there are so many who flought the restrictions it looks pretty grim to me and our leaders have an unenviable job. .
