The thing is that the people who complain loudly are exactly those who do not think this is warranted, and most likely do not do the right thing. Yes, it will be hard for them; there are whole families with many kids in 2 - 3 bedroom flats, but it's only for few days. It's just simple fact that in these buildings you cannot leave your apartment without bumping into somebody, and you are unlikely to be alone in the lift.
As far as food goes, I saw on the news trucks delivering boxes of food. While I am sure there are many babies who need formula, surely they are not all running out.
They are also getting 2 weeks rent free, and extra dole payments.

I wonder if some of those people living in these flats are really not meant to be living there. One case in point is someone saying there were NINE people living in his 3 bed flat, seems excessive to me ..... are they all there legally?

well, you are on record as saying that the non-closure of the Vic border made you angry . . . so that should help you with anger management! (just kidding)
I cant see how it will work here in NW Vic as the numbers of NSW police are too low to man the borders and continue with all the other policing matters like highway patrol and general call outs. They will need to almost double the number of Police on the NSW side of the border.
