Yes it has. Just wondering if all cars with Vic numberplates will be stopped on the highway (but which highway) close to NSW? It just doesn't seem workable.

so I do hope they don't expect anyone to have to go cold turkey. Shoppong is supposedly gooing to be done for them so no one should question a need for cigs or moderate alcohol. Now is not the time to start weaning people from addictions particularly in those awful conditions.
Not every resident in this tower estate will have addiction issues, but given the socio economic background of the residents, addiction issues can be assumed to be at much higher levels than the broader community.
Weaning people off of addiction issues takes a lot more than an imposed lock down and maybe the supply of a bit of methadone. ( which is unlikely to actually happen in the 5 day lock down )
It takes intensive work and counselling that addresses past traumas, treatment for any underlying mental health issues, support with diet, counselling for issues such as self worth, medical help with sleep, an understanding of the influence of peer groups, ways to become involved in other interests to beat boredom and do something constructive, work to establish routine etc. Often the only way for those addicted to non legal drugs to get clean is to leave long established friendship and peer groups, meaning loneliness becomes an issue.
It will be impossible to give the residents of these estates this level of support and they wont have access to their normal " fix." Some will literally be going off of their brains with withdrawal. There are no easy answers, but my thoughts are with them at the moment.

SA has had border closures with VIC for many weeks now. The police have border controls directly on the border, but also run a constant loop of patrol cars up to 150 km. from the border on the main highways. These stop interstate registered cars well into the state. This helps to catch those who slip through the back roads etc and enter the highways 30 or 40 km. from the border.
They also run road block blitzes at choke points in main highways perhaps 100 - 150 km. from the border. One blitz 150 km. from the Vic. border ( at Meningie ) caught 19 interstate motorists in one afternoon who had avoided the main roads into the state. Each person recieving a $1050 fine and 14 days monitored quarantine..........![]()
The only problem is that the patrols often only run 8am - 5 pm. with highways completely deserted in the middle of the night.

Like I said others don't seem to understand how the border towns operate here and that closing the borders simply doesn't work between NSW and Vic.
But nonetheless itt's happening
Which will show what a nightmare it will be and all because of the idiots in and around Melbourne that don't have
a clue and now the whole state has been punished for their carpy behaviour.
At least the Vic Government are doing lots of tests so the pick up rate is higher and they found these cases due
to that increased testing regime.
Hopefully the other states don't have any cases or people that ignore the advice if they do feel sick to get
tested especially as it now looks like some states are not testing at all.
