Coronavirus update

this story on 9 news last night was rather disturbing

https://www.9news.com.au/national/coronavirus-covidsafe-app-could-have-cost-contact-tracing-millions...

9News can reveal government spending on the app has cost millions more than previously thought and one of the companies involved in working on it has links to the Liberal Party.

Technology company DELV was paid to work on COVIDSafe and paid more than $3.8 million to help develop the government's coronavirus information app and around $6 million has been paid for work also including the COVIDSafe program.

DELV's CEO Masseh Haidary is the husband of Liberal Party Canberra candidate Mina Zaki and has in a previous role his company hosted MP Angus Taylor in the past at business events

More than 4600 cases have been diagnosed in Victoria since it was launched, with the app only being accessed just 325 times for zero results.

In NSW, 586 cases have been identified but the app was used just 12 times and no cases found solely from its operation.

Considering that we are only less than 2 weeks into the lockdown, and  the usual incubation period is anything up to about 2 weeks, all what it shows that the lockdown was necessary.  What will be happening from now on is going to be more significant, but still we should just be grateful that the lockdown has been introduced; if it has not, there would have been many more undiagnosed cases in the community by now.

It is easy to say that the hotel quarantine should have been handled better.  They say the people were only given 5 minutes training.  How much more do you need to understand that you are dealing with people who may have deadly disease that is  transmitted in the air, and so you wear mask and do NOT interact with them in any other way then put their food, medication etc. behind their door, and then remove the dirty dishes, and wear gloves while doing it?

Kaz - in all reality - we are now into 6 months of ' lockdown '.

It's a question - when are some going to take this seriously.

About bloody time.

Dom, I think Kazumi is referring to Melbourne's  'serious'  lockdown.

We're not allowed to cross postcodes.

Now with the masks being mandatory, I hope we can stop the bloody thing, or at least slow it down a hell of a lot.
