How about you stop this garbage of blaming others and actually take notice of what's said as NOWHERE has it ever being said that they are allowed out as they are supposed to be in quarentine and they have broken quarentine so they are at fault and no has allowed them out.stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

why not just forsake quarantine altogether and satisfy your zero accountability agenda

No idea where you got that garbage from either and that's is totally and completeley over the top and shows you up as a numpty when you come up with false and inflammatory garbage just because you've been shown to be totally wrong and then try and deflect it with yet another false statement.stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

Two more positive cases in Portland today, getting a tad serious there no

But Portland is pretty isolated and it should be much easier to keep a handle on it with contact tracing, etc and

they are a country town of only ten thousand so everyone will be kept in the "loop" via their local health

Good grief - how did it manage to get this bad.

We were all doing so well - then poof.

Rogespeed did caution us months ago that things could get worse in winter. Maybe he/she was right all along?

No hocus-pocus , just observing what had been happened in the northern hemisphere and assuming similar dynamics as flu or common cold -

but am wrong about  summer time in the north as coronavirus is ravaging southern US states during their summer time - when people are or should be more healthy and being outdoors more often and when flu is not a factor , , however these are the humid summer climatic regions which implies that the virus  thrives also in summer once a certain critical mass of infections is realised and so maybe in particularly humid conditions -

Sort of makes sense as in cold winters in harsh regions many people cooped up in small rooms with heater on high tends to be highly humid air - so sultry conditions , heat + humid air + gregarious social environment is to be wary of, summer or winter

This is just a folk logic discussion without any claims of scientific merit or validation.

The suspected source of the Victorian crisis conformed to the conditions  :

Critical mass of infected people, ( plague prone people returning from overseas)

confined living environment ( small living area accommodation, warm and humid)

and gregarious social environment ( thanks to supervision ! )

Wrong as it all started with ONE security that couldn't do the job he was paid to do and if he had done the job correctly there would not have been an outbreak as it was being "controlled".Angry head bang.gif

Security guard is supervison - you do not seriously think in swinging Victoria only one guard was a bit to supervisory ?

I hope they can successfully trace the infection - is so far away from the epicentre

During Stage 4 restrictions - might be helpful to reducing emotion stress in some , or many , or most, if local shops pooled resources and created a common online shopping plaza portal to enable local suburban or town's people to order non-essential items that could assist in  maintaining good mood and reduce climbing of the walls during this stressing time

Also would enable continued trading for normally closed local retail shops

Online ordering and dispatch staff considered essential workers - swabbed daily

Local delivery same day morning or afternoon - delivery possibly subsidised for the duration to encourage low price items bought

Think Amazon at a local supply level for locals , think take-away meals , think take-away ?????

Thinking of the seaside town of Portland (Australia) , complete with functional international port ,  as a giant motel with everyone under stage 3 restrictions - what can be , should be , could be done to stop any spread , given the usual small town resources and socio-structural organisation that contributes to normal peaceful and ordered society ?

Unjucky for his OH to have been at the bank when the the first case woman came in and infected her and she then passed it on to him who then later died.

At least they did all the tracing and knew that she came from Melbourne but had a "legitimate" reason to be in Portland.

Further tracing and testing has turned up the other cases and hopefully no one that may infected leaves town and no other idiots from Melbourne are allowed in.stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

From Portland district Facebook page:

IMPORTANT COVID -19 Update Sunday 2nd August 2020

TWO new COVID-19 cases identified in Portland today, results are from testing undertaken 31st July 2020.
I don’t have a lot of details about these cases as yet but have been in touch with the Geelong CoVID -19 tracing team and they are getting onto the contact tracing.

At this time it is not known if these cases are linked to the Portland outbreak or not.

Social distancing and masks in shearing sheds will be a bit awkward. Shearing has been scientifically tested and proven as the most physically demanding regular employment option and is harder work than most intense gym workouts. I wouldn't like to try to keep a mask on while shearing for 8 hours per day, especially when the sheep are regularly kicking you in the face..

Well, surgeons and support staff performing complicated operations wear mask for many hours; some operations can go for 12 plus hours.  Other professions also require people to wear uncomfortable protective gear.  Then again, if the shearing shed can be organised such a way that each person keeps suitable distance from the next, then they should not need to wear the mask; they could put it on only when they  need to interact with another person.  But then again, if they do not take precautions, they may infect everybody.
