Jeff Kennet says what many are thinking. Dan Andrews is running a Communist dictatorship and holding Victorians prisoner in their own homes while the states economy becomes a basket case that will take decades to catch up to the rest of the country. You can poo poo the messenger, but the message is clearly correct.
One thought that has crossed my mind is that with the Communist views that Andrews clearly holds, he may be deliberately sabotaging Victorian private businesses out of philosophical spite and hate. Every other state seems to be managing the COVID crisis very well, often with similar case numbers to Victoria, so why is he still forcing Victorians to stay inside their homes and keeping businesses shut for months on end ? Is it simply because he is afraid that his incompetence with sorting out his contact tracing will become aparent or does it go much deeper in the form of a sick dictator who is a control freak, getting a power kick out of locking his subjects up ?
Whatever the reason, Victorians are paying the price and falling further and further behind other, better managed states every day.

Swinburne University Law School dean Professor Mirko Bagaric claims Victorian Labor Premier, Dan Andrews ongoing COVID restrictions breach the Victorian 2006 Charter of Human Rights. Greg Barnes, Spokesman for the Australian Lawyers Alliance believes it breaches section 200 of the public Health and Wellbeing act 2008.
These are highly respected, independent experts in Australian law relating to Human rights expressing concerns about Dan Andrews imposition of Communist Dictator like sanctions on the Victorian community. There's no doubt when Victoria was getting 600 new COVID cases a day, the lockdowns where justified, but Andrews continuation of holding the state hostage when the daily new case average is less than 5 is starting to get down right scary.
Its looking like the guy is a total nut job who is completely out of control, ignoring the expert advice from senior people around him while he gets a kick out smashing Victoria's economy and completely controlling the people.

So true what you say. I would like to add though that capitalism at its extreme is no different than communism. There are those at the top who reap the benefits, the destruction of the middle class and those down below who wonder how they'll get along tomorrow. Whatever Andrews is up to it's going to be great news for some huge companies.

kennett doesn't say what many are thinking did you know he sold off our infectious diseases hospital back in the nineties... it sure would've been useful to have now

something I recently learned about Kennett who granted crown casino their license when he was premier is that all this time, he has had a contract for one of his companies to service the poker machines there

Communist dictatorship
Holding Victorians prisoner in their own homes.
Deliberately sabotaging.
philosophical spite and hate.
Sick dictator
Control freak,
Getting a power kick out of locking his subjects up
If this is what passes for respectful and intelligent debate in your lexicon, then I think the only appropriate response is TINFOIL HAT

Stephen MayneHey Jeff Kennett, any apologies about the monstrous den of iniquity you created on the banks of the Yarra? And is your pokies servicing company likely to retain its Crown contract if Packer loses control? Never a good look to put you on Crown payroll given all you did for them.Stephen, You are so biased and uninformed. We do not have a contract with Crown. That ended some months ago. Grow up and try and become relevantso , I have to agree wth your post about those at the top who reap the benefits

Yeah, Kennet! Thanks for the reminder. I didn't remember that part about him but I recall a few other not so good things. Nowdays when I think of Kennet, that painting featuring Gary Foley, John Laws and Kennett by respected and much missed Indigenous artist, Lin Onus comes to mind. Well, it could be that Andrews is doing what Kennett did but on a bigger scale. I hope not but look at what is happening.
