The inline 6 used by Chevrolet from 1962 on had 7 main bearings, and those engines (and their predecessors) were known for their power and durability..

As I recall, you have that skinny intake manifold with the carberator directly above the exhaust manifold. Just keep your eye out for gas leaks or have a fire extinguser handy.

I've owned a lot of straight six engined cars. I'm not that into V8's seeing as we have speed limits and most V8 owners I know seem to be compensating for having a little tally waker, I know you're a female and that wouldn't apply

lol, yeah I'm just compensating for small breasts I guess. No I just think the "V" engines are a better design. I'd rather have a v6 than a v8 in a Chevy or GM, and I wish they would come out with a small car with a v4 engine. Thats what was supposed to go into the first Mustangs before they cheaped out on the overall design.

I have my hands full with this Ranger. But with the Ranger, i'm looking to hire out the work. If I have to mess with this one myself, it's gonna be the last one I mess with. I'm done with working on cars, least not unless I absolutly have to. I really want to make this Ranger an EV, but I already put so much into getting all the v8 stuff to make it work. Believe it or not, I have more money in the things to make the engine work in the Ranger than I have in the doner Mustang the engine and transmission came from. Mounts, headers, oil filter relocator, radiator, and I still have no idea how i'm gonna make the clutch work. It's a cable clutch transmission and the Ranger was hydralic.

I remember my father bringing home a '62 Corvette, with the notion I might enjoy it.........until he was informed how much the insurance would cost.  I always loved those solid axle Corvettes.....

The corvette has a 5.7litre motor, the Pirus has a 1.8litre motor and can switch to electric and some dropkick reckons the corvette gets better gas mileage than the pirus?

1963 I think, my fav body style too 63 - 67.. however i can take or leave the split window, seems like that would create a vision problem backing up. also, I'm not a fan of convertables. t tops, or removable hardtops are ok though.

its good they stuck a lid on them so you dont always see them

always wanted a 327 chevy V8, and the only aussie car that came with them was the bathurst HK monaro.

if i ever get lucky, i'd get me one of those vettes, just to play with on the weekends

I had an abundance of Chevy mouse motors...........283s in '57 Chev and '64 El Camino, 327s in '58 Biscayne and '65 Malibu, 350 in '71 Camaro, 262 in a Chevy Monza (replaced with a ..030-over 327).  Then there were the Rat motors.......427 went into the '65 Malibu, 396 went into the .71 Camaro, and a 73 Malibu SS came with a 454.  That's not to mention the black sheep of the family, a 409 in a '62 bubbletop Bel Air and one that was in the '58 when I got it.

When an old girlfriend once asked me the reason for my heart transplant, I replied, "Speed...........slow horses, fast cars, and faster women"..........

You couldn't see squat out of one anyway, split window or not.
