Could you do better ? (A Kind of Political Thread)

There are countless political threads on the boards as we all know.

And no matter the intention of the OP, most really just end up being a cat fight between each responders preferred party or representative.

Here is a twist - Could you, as the leader of a political party, do a better job (and not just an off the cuff answer along the lines of a two year old could do a better job haha) but an answer backed up with the method to attain what you think the country needs.

I reckon at the end, all of us will realise it is not an easy job....and you can't please all the people all the time.

No excuses, the present government is excuse enough. Reality bites hard and you have to face it, we are in for a tough time to get this fixed.

You are right, the libs will have to raise some taxes, cut some benefits, reduce the public sector jobs and really put the screws on to get this country up and running again.

You will hate it but the blame lies with the present government for spending money it did not have and relying on money it MIGHT get, didn't pan out that way so woops someone has to fix it.

Uh no.. Tony has promised NO benefits will be cut. Tony has promised public service jobs will only be lost by attrition. Tony is going to scrap the Carbon Tax. Tony is going ahead with the increase in the Medicare Levy.

Where/when did he say he is going to raise taxes. What taxes and by what amount?
