Another young man has died today after being hit by a coward punch. A young man that did nothing except being in the wrong place at the wrong time
What should happen to people that throw cowards punches?
What should happen to people that kill with a coward punch?
What should happen to people that maim and in so many cases disable people and or leave their victims with permanent brain damage with a coward punch
Should it be an automatic LIFE sentance?
What should the govt do about this?
What should the spineless judges and courts do about this and what sentences should they impose
Should it be a state issue or a federal issue or both?
In general whats your thoughts on coward punches
Whats the thoughts on the increase of angry young people (men and women) out there fuelled by alcohol (and DRUGS) and the violence on the streets now days

DANIEL Christie, the 18-year-old boy who was hit by a "coward punch" on New Year's Eve, has died in hospital today.
His family made the harrowing decision to turn off his life support today after Daniel spent 11 days in a critical condition at St Vincent's Hospital.
"This is the saddest announcement we can possibly make - that Daniel is no longer with us," his family said, in a statement issued a short time ago to the media.
"While no words can describe how crushed we are, Daniel fought courageously over the past eleven days which allowed everyone to say their farewells.
"It has also given us all strength and tightened even further the bond our family share.

Paramedics left to pick up the pieces when lives are shattered from alcohol-fuelled violence
THESE are some of the paramedics left to pick up the pieces when lives are shattered from alcohol-fuelled violence. They are fed up with thugs acting like "animals in a zoo" and are heartbroken about the growing number of lives destroyed by violence.

That's very very sad news. Poor Daniel. Poor Daniel's parents.
I really thought he'd pull through.
I'd like to see the idiot that did it suffer correspondingly.

I hope McNeil can be charged with murder.
The director of public prosecutions has been asked to examine whether the man charged with assaulting Daniel Christie on New Years Eve should be charged with murder, after the teenager died in hospital on Saturday.
NSW Attorney General Greg Smith expressed his sympathies to the families and said he had contacted the director of public prosecutions over the matter.
"I have spoken to the Acting Director of Public Prosecutions and asked him to closely examine this case with a view to determining if murder charges are appropriate in light of the evidence, and in light of the alleged offender’s reported martial arts experience," said Mr Smith in a statement.

You really do have to wonder what on earth is going on. They get the tats to show how tough they are, they walk around the streets screaming obscenties and that is just in a quite small town where I live.

It's probably a mixture of drugs steroids and alcohol

My sympathy to the family of this lovely young man. I don't know what the answer to this is but earlier closings, photo id, raising the age limit & murder convictions for the attackers is a start.

Anybody who attacks another person without any provocation should be judged harshly. But I think that to be charged with 'murder' there must be intent, which could be difficult to prove.
The only answer is to make such behavior = binge drinking and drug taking to be considered unacceptable. I imagine that the whole point of knocking out a stranger on the street is to show how tough you are, and gains the attacker respect from his friends?
