Another young man has died today after being hit by a coward punch. A young man that did nothing except being in the wrong place at the wrong time
What should happen to people that throw cowards punches?
What should happen to people that kill with a coward punch?
What should happen to people that maim and in so many cases disable people and or leave their victims with permanent brain damage with a coward punch
Should it be an automatic LIFE sentance?
What should the govt do about this?
What should the spineless judges and courts do about this and what sentences should they impose
Should it be a state issue or a federal issue or both?
In general whats your thoughts on coward punches
Whats the thoughts on the increase of angry young people (men and women) out there fuelled by alcohol (and DRUGS) and the violence on the streets now days

DANIEL Christie, the 18-year-old boy who was hit by a "coward punch" on New Year's Eve, has died in hospital today.
His family made the harrowing decision to turn off his life support today after Daniel spent 11 days in a critical condition at St Vincent's Hospital.
"This is the saddest announcement we can possibly make - that Daniel is no longer with us," his family said, in a statement issued a short time ago to the media.
"While no words can describe how crushed we are, Daniel fought courageously over the past eleven days which allowed everyone to say their farewells.
"It has also given us all strength and tightened even further the bond our family share.

I hope that he does get charged with murder but unless there was intent, he could most likely end up being charged with manslaughter, at the least. I hope that he receives the longest sentence possible.

Everybody knows you can kill someone with a king hit, so if you intentionally throw your fist into someones face then it should be considered intent to kill. Its impossible to accidently punch someone with enough force to kill.
No different to stabbing or shooting someone in my opinion, just a different weapon.

King hit is unAustralian, always has been, what's going on? A man was called a coward if he king hit someone.

"unaustralian" ??? It seems to be very much part of Australian culture in this moment. What nation would you then contribute it to?
I do hope we could drop the 'king' and refer to it as 'coward hit'; of course, nothing can stop the idiots to pervert the word 'coward' to have another meaning. 😞

it is a gutles cowardly act and as for
What should happen to people that throw cowards punches? locked up for attempted murder
What should happen to people that kill with a coward punch? locked up for murder
There really is nothing less they can be charged with.
Perhaps having police out on the beat and patrol doing their job of protecting people could help

So before you try to say anything else, King hit was always looked upon as a cowardly act in this country.
Historically a king hit was cowardly as was using knives or kicking while a person was down. So that was my reason for posting, there's no need for you to jump on "unAustralian" as though it means something else.

I think it always has been part of Aussie culture to some extent although it has changed. It used to be that those drop kicks that wante to punch someone would pick out a person that looked like they'd react and hit them to start a fight where as now they pick on people minding their own business walking on the street.

It was never a part of Australian culture. I'm speaking historically. It was not something an Australian wanted to be known for & if a king hit was thrown he would be shown out by the onlookers & forever known as a coward.

That would assume that drunken thugs are thinking rationally at the time.
They obviously did not do it to look like the coward that they are. That doesn't mean it wasn't a common occurrance. They just used to punch inside and pick on people their own size. I used to wonder of they felt like a flogging, based on those they would select to punch. There is a lot less of that sort of behaviour now the venues have security on the doors.
