I am supposed to be making a table centre piece for a function that is coming up.  The theme is "Putting on the Ritz".  I had thought of getting some arcrylic champagne glasses (not flutes, what are the other saucer shaped ones called?), setting some pink jelly in them (water, gelatine and a little red food colouring) with glitter all through it, then balancing them like a champagne pyramid (probably glue gunned together so I can transport them easily)

Now, my question is do you think the glitter in the genatine would work? or would it all just sink to the bottom?  Do you have any other ideas to make it look champagne like?

This is not a fancy do, just a whole bunch of women dressing up and having fun, so it doesn't matter if things look a bit tacky iykwim.

Sorry, just looked properly at that link - UK - too expensive.

But you could cut up your own cellophane.

Thanks. Just one more question? Roughly how much, in volume, would 200g be? How many glasses would it fill do you think?

That's a hard one Lurker for cascading champagne.  Maybe just some gold curling ribbon that you buy for gift wrapping.  You might be able to do something like that but it would be a bit abstractish.

200 grams is quite a lot as cellophane doesn't weigh much at all.

Do you have a shredder? IMO you don't need it shredded, just scrunch it up.

But to cascade it, I think narrow strips scrunched would do the trick. That UK site is quoting $17 or so postage

check this out.   I know this is a giant one but the pearl strings look great.... you could use something like this maybe http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pearls-on-String-Pink-2-5mm-5-metres-/271302661057?pt=AU_Beads&hash=item3...

those vintage angel hair Christmas decorations would be great too.
