Re: Crowdfunding

Grandmoon, have you tried looking for a sponsor or several who could split the cost between them. We have a major art event here in a regional area annually and it is funded principally by a philanthropist in Sydney and several of the local motor dealers also chip in hefty amounts. Sometimes also the major banks and some foreign banks if they are trying to get a foothold in your area are also approachable. I have found that if they have allocated all of the annual grants they will suggest someone else.

Re: Crowdfunding

Grandmoon, just a suggestion but start with the main local banks and ask the Manager to put you in contact with their public relations people in their head office.

If you are in a regional area there is a bank called Rabobank who are very community minded.

The other ones to try are local philanthropists like Dick Smith, Lachlan Murdoch and James Packer, I believe that all have community related departments and are very approachable.

Another alternative which worked here for a community project which needed to be built was to approach several of the local builders and large hardware stores and together they all pitched in.

Of course it all depends to a large extent on the charity.

Re: Crowdfunding

Thanks for the suggestions Jean.

It has given us a lot to think about and some  work to do. I am feeling a bit more positive that we will achieve our goals.
