DDU can I ask you about your chooks? You do have chooks don't you?
Roughly what sort of cage do you have i.e. wooden? How many chooks & what/how much do you feed them? I searched chook houses on ebay, do you suggest a good one?


Klarry what is needed to fox proof a chook house? We were thinking wire underneath and perhaps sleepers too? Are snakes & rats a problem?


Any information would be good 🙂

It's possible that the dog got it too, I didn't think of that.

I haven't had bad news from the vet so I suspect she's just sleeping off the anaesthetic and i'll get her back tomorrow complete with HUGE splint and orders to keep her calm (right ....)

Would the dog owner be liable for all the injuries its caused?

I would present all repair bills to the dog owner.

Bet they'd be happy to pay without any legal action.

There is no way we could prove the cat was injured by the dog ... just got a call from the vet.

I think I'd be presenting the dog owner with the bill - Dogs should not be roaming and getting in to other properties - we had a dog (still got her) who was a houdini at getting out - we stopped her as I was worried what might happen - we would have been mortified if she had hurt another animal in it's own yard.

Our chooks used to get in to next door's garden though]:)

Ouch! It's a shame the vet is unable to determine the cause. Well, Atleast the kitty was taken care of & will recover.

Sleeping, I had slight jealousy problem with my dog.

Another dog gathered my dog's ball in a park one time, so my dog savaged it. I would hate that to happen to my dog when they were only playing and felt sorry for the dog owner too. So i gave him my phone number and offered to pay any vet bills. I was lucky I only had to pay $60 back then.

From then on i would only play ball if there were no other dogs around. Otherwise he was fine playing with other dogs, it was the connection with me that bugged him lol

He and his girlfriend were funny to watch though.

If she perched herself on my thigh while i was sat down, my dog would perch himself on my other leg and tell her off & growl, but he would never harm her. And if my dog did the same to her master she would do the same lol Then see the ears go back on my dog, lol They were lovers 😄
