Dear Mods

If you're going to edit my posts and if it's not too much trouble, would it be possible for you to fix up any spelling mistakes and typos they may contain whilst you're in there?

Thanks heaps,

Re: Dear Mods

I rarely go looking for them. Many are in response to my posts.

Re: Dear Mods

Ha!  That happened to someone that disagreed with me in a not too friendly way.  I can't remember who it was.  The mods changed it so that they pretty much agreed with me.  Loved it ๐Ÿ˜„

Re: Dear Mods

I had one edited because they assumed I was meaning something I didn't. When I explained what I had been trying to say they unedited. Winner!! ๐Ÿ™‚

It doesn't take a genius IQ to work out what is likely to be edited - so it's a bit pointless whinging when it happens.

Yes but it irks me when the INTENT of my post is changed.

It's one thing to edit, it's another to change the language so much that the post means something entirely different.

Apparently "windbag" is edited out so it's only very basic 3rd grade language allowed on here. I'll have to go and get reprogrammed so I only talk baby talk on here.

Editing a persons post because of a word that is deemed inappropriate by "them" is appalling & smacks of big brother, even worse, the Chinese moderating of the Internet, over 3 million moderators in China look at your activity on the net.

Is this what this place has come to?? any colourful language is automatically "edited" out with no explanation. I don't see using the "whole" of the English language can be a bad thing if your comment is not directed to a poster, is not a personal attack on a poster, but referring to an outside article or happening well outside the forum.

There's not another blog site I can think of that does this. No matter what you all think, this type of behaviour by lithium is unacceptable & should be stopped.

Re: Dear Mods

was it directed at a poster..if so the mods could consider it  interpersonal and/or going against Community Values ?

.. which is the belief that all people are basically good  ?

are you american ? or do Australian now say 3rd grade rather than grade 3 ?

oh and this is not a blog site .It's a public discussion board provided by ebay for  it's members.

Re: Dear Mods

It can't we worse than Chinese internet moderation...I think that if it was anything like that anyone who has posted Andrew Bolt/Pickering type marerial about our PM's may end up in jail for doing so ?

There was a thread here which the opening poster referred to as her blog. That may be why you thought that this discussion board is a blog site too ?

Re: Dear Mods

Editing is much better than having the post removed. It retains the flow of the thread and usually doesn't count as a sanction.

It's also funny seeing edits that turn a cranky, nasty post into a sickly sweet one, it cracks me up, .... especially when fellow cranks have already given kudos to the original post haha ๐Ÿ˜„
