One night they chomped through about 15 baskets of impatiens.
Then onto the yummy roses, geraniums.
Now I've decided to set up an area of succulents in pots which I love and have read so many remedies for
spraying tham (the plants ) on the internet and don't know where to start.
I have bought two little flashing led lights in vivid green which I'm hoping will look like
evil eyes, lol.
Anybody had success with deterring them? I won't trap them and relocate as I know they die in a new area and I'm am actually fond of the \little critters. .

Try feeding them. Why not put out a dish of stuff that they will chomp on. I love sharing my yard with the local possums. You might run the risk of enticing more if you feed them. If you visit the local fruit shop you'll be able to buy stuff that is nearly on the turn and you'll get it a bit cheaper if you ask. Feed that to the possums. They'll love it.
We feed them, they like apples............still doesnt stop them from eating the roses.....

They fight to survive. I feel mean wanting to deter them but they can eat the rest of my garden, just not the succulent patch.
I will try your suggestion of the garlic spray, and I've heard that camphor can also be a good repellent.
We have a big possum problem as well so far they have left the roses alone but they are eating all our smaller plants in the back garden. We have a succulent patch and so far they have not touched it, my husband thinks it is because we have covered the ground around the succulents with yellow pebbles and the possums don't seem to like walking on the pebbles. I don't know if that is the case but it might be worth a try.

Az, OH want to know how much the owls are to buy?
on 27-04-2015 01:39 PM
One of them is about 4 years old, the other about 2 yo, as I recall, both under $20 each

thanks for posting the pic az, really appreciate it. I reckon that would be a good deterrent. Did you get it at bunnings?
And are the eys motion sensor or do they stay alight all night?
I've seen a few owls on ebay but this looks the best

Are you sure it is not rats?

I've pretty well got the rodent problem under control (for now anyway), so I think it's possums judging by the size of the bites.

supernova we have snakes in the garden so we don't have mice or rats, I have spoken to my neighbours and they say it is possums and wallabies that are eat the plants.
