Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Strange, seeing as most MP's love to blab on about themselves.

Kathy Jackson - strange her lawyer sat on the medical medical report weeks. Also requested an adjournment till Feb. If she is mentally unwell how does anyone know she will be better by Feb?. Anyway, Judge only agreed to 3 week delay.

That kathy jackson is a disgrace, she has no shame

Failures – Once again Kathy Jackson fails to impress or even show up at Federal Court

Today in Federal Court we heard the latest in the list of excuses/reasons of why Kathy Jackson refuses to answer for her own actions while expecting the rest of the world praise her as some sort of heroine.

There are not a lot of things that Kathy Jackson has not failed at it would seem.

She has failed at showing any sense of decorum, happy to splash her sex life all over the media.

She has failed as a hopeful Labor candidate, losing in a pre-selection, then taking the Party to court and losing yet again

She has failed as a self-proclaimed whistleblower, with evidence now seeming to show it was all to divert attention away from her own crimes.

She has failed as a union official, preferring to score herself a $250K personal bank account rather than see cancer researchers receive their legal entitlements. Some would argue this also makes her a failure as a human.

Some would also allege that she has failed as a criminal also, leaving behind evidence of approximately $1.4 Million of misappropriated union members funds.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

talking about shame, this bloke takes first prize

Anti-whistleblowing law being used to pursue Save the Children staff used only twice in five years

Only two people over five years have been charged using the anti-whistleblowing section of the Crimes Act the federal government is using to pursue Save the Children staff, according to the Australian Federal Police.

Section 70 of the Crimes Act is being used by Immigration Minister Scott Morrison against 10 staff from the aid organisation on Nauru accused of communicating privileged information to non-Commonwealth workers.

He has referred the matter to the AFP for investigation.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

hockey is such a goose, seems to be a LNP trait - everything true is "ridiculous" but their lies are supposed to be taken as fact with nothing to back them up but spin and bluster. Maybe they will try and hold an RC into The World Resources Institute...Woman LOL

Hockey brushes off climate claims

Climate experts have no doubt Australia has the highest per capita emissions in the developed world.

But Treasurer Joe Hockey disputed this as he was quizzed on Australia's climate action in an interview on BBC's Hardtalk program, which aired on Tuesday Australian time.

The interviewer said Australia was one of the "dirtiest, most greenhouse emitting countries in the OECD group of developed countries" and asked Mr Hockey what Australia was doing to clean up its act.

"The comment you just made is absolutely ridiculous," Mr Hockey said.

However, the most recent data from the World Resources Institute showed Australia remained the highest emitter on a population basis, just ahead of Canada, Estonia, Luxembourg and the United States.

Former Labor treasurer Wayne Swan says the fact that Australia is the OECD's highest emitter per capita makes it even more important for the nation to put in place an effective policy response.

"Yet again, Hockey's ignorance and ineptitude was on display for the world to see," he said in Sydney.

Mr Swan also told the Lowy Institute nations such as the US and Germany want climate change on the agenda for the G20 leaders summit in Brisbane in November.

"At best, Australia has gone from leader to laggard on climate change. At worst, it's gone from lifter to leaner," Mr Swan said.

He said including the issue of "energy efficiency" on the G20 agenda was a fig leaf "to camouflage the anger and dismay within the international community at Australia's stance as the first nation to go backwards".
