As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

American-built clinic in Liberia being used to treat Ebola-infected healthcare workers.
I believe that Britain has a new treatment centre also in West Africa, and Britain has offered weeks ago for Australian workers to be flown to London to their specially designed centre.
So you are volunteering to go then are you....
So many health care workers getting infected.......

Us too, we 've always paid our taxes.
my husband pays his fortnightly, & we pay tax on our capital gains plus we have a positive geared investment property atm. however I don't begrudge our taxes going to welfare payments to those in society who need help. Would much rather our money go there than to boost some politicians super fund or to some dodgy time and money wasting RC
so who do think here is on welfare nero??
nero, did you notice it's true that Julia Gillards book is a number one bestseller?
it looks as if she's risen above all the slander doesn't it?
good for her!

Slander.
Some know no other way.
The irony..... of those who brag about reducing their taxes to nothing then attacking others who they assume don't pay enough.
Too funny.

I've always noticed that the more you have, the more ways there are to reduce your taxes

Excellent for you and I do as well. I pay what my accountant tells me to pay within the law..... and I bet you do as well and with your capitalist investment property you have and its many many writeoffs under the tax law. You couldn’t have one of them (an investment property) under a socialist system now could you....
so who do think here is on welfare nero??
Couldnt care less and never said anyone on here was....
but if the shoe fits anyone....... 🙂
it looks as if she's risen above all the slander doesn't it?
She hasnt risen above anything as she is still playing the victim and playing it in her work of FICTION.... with many incorrect dates and times and facts in the book and events that never happened or happened at a different time....
Anyway I have a life and work to attend to so I am out of here.........

Also from Random House:
At least Poor Me comes in second. It is interesting (and apt) that her: "My Story" is on a par with a cook book !! , according to star appreciation.
Mark Latham recently penned in the AFR under the title of: Julia Gillard’s delusions of gender bias :
That Gillard was "engaging in feminist fantasy and the vainglorious pursuit of political martyrdom."
I would guess one Circus performer would know another!

I would like to, but I would not be accepted because of my age. I was not accepted in 2004 for that reason, so not a chance now.
How many western health workers are getting infected? Methinks you are fantasising to aid your argument.
