Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

There was a grand total of 4 posts posted by 4 individuals on this thread yesterday so please explain how that equates to "spending Christmas Day posting on this thread".

Too funny coming from one of the most prolific posters posting on Christmas Day  :D:D:D

But what’s got Mrs Abbott looking so glum?

The couple paid tribute to families spending Christmas apart and those grieving for relatives in his annual Christmas message.

Mr Abbott said that while Christmas was a joyous occasion for many, it could be a sad time for some.

“This year, we are thinking of those families who have lost loved ones,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

It’s been a tragic year for Australians in the news and while the Abbott’s don’t make any particular references, like the loss of 36 Australian citizens and residents in the MH17 tragedy or the recent siege in Martin Place, for some families it is no doubt a “sad time too”, as Mrs Abbott says.

masterfully done.

Why do some people have to take such a nice gesture and try to make a mockery of it?

How so!  I had already done all my Christmas donations.  I'm not knocking yours.  Ours was the charity of our choice, which I did.

Ok. I think it was a bit insensitive to post how many charities you supported overseas and then post that you were all uncharitied out when it came to aussies in need, that's all.

Maybe I was just being a tad oversensitive.
