Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

You would expect a man who aspired to be a priest would know morally right from morally wrong.

The fact that he only bothered to see the baby once during 5 days is very telling don't you think?

Did TA tell his parents about their new 'grandchild' at the time of his birth?

Mr Abbott had started a relationship with Ms Donnelly in 1975 while completing year 12 at St Ignatius College, Riverview.

When the pair went to university, Ms Donnelly gave birth to a baby boy at Mater Hospital, Crows Nest, on July 26, 1977.

Mr Abbott was under the impression that the baby was his son and he saw him briefly before Ms Donnelly relinquished the boy for adoption five days after the birth.

Doesn't sound like a joint effort  by both parents to agree to give the baby up for adoption. The mother probably knew the baby could be the child of either of her two boyfriends.

no, from what you posted, it doesn't.

from this  (fairfax media) - it does:

Daniel O'Connor's mother, Kathy Donnelly, had always believed that Mr Abbott, with whom she had a relationship when he was a teenage law student in Sydney, was the biological father.

Five days after Mr O'Connor was born, in July 1977, Mrs Donnelly and Mr Abbott decided to give him up for adoption.

While Abbott took a brief look at the baby.. lol...

i am not sure when the decision to

adopt the baby out was made.

were you there ???

No, you aren't sure of anything. You just make stuff up as you  go along. I am not Prime Minister of Australia, practising Catholic, he had a 'skeleton' in his cupboard (well he thought he did) from when he was 21.

in the same way?  Woman Surprised

Post (s) were specifically about Tony Abbott, Catholic, trained to be a priest...still pushes his outdated Christian views.. wasn't too saintly himself at a young age. It was not a generalisation, it refered to Tony Abbott, a practising Catholic.

such as?

Not looking  good for TA's moral compass.. girlfriend has a baby, he 'thinks; it is his, pays the baby a brief visit on day 5.. spends the next 27 years without any attempt to find that child and reunite with him.
