Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

to debs:

House prices are not coming down because the politicians and corporations manipulate a dumb electorate.

โ€œforeigners typically buy expensive houses, therefore they donโ€™t effect FHB and most other Australian buyersโ€.

Take 2% out of the market (no matter which tier) and it wonโ€™t have any difference is so mind numbingly deceptive.

Iโ€™m embarrassed to be be part of this dumb country.

A democracy thatโ€™s voting for destruction.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

They leave a lot of very expensive houses empty too, there are heaps of them around Toorak, the most expensive suburb here. We had a friend from Malaysia who was working here and staying in someone's Toorak mansion, they also owned the empty mansion next door

No one said you couldn't. This thread does have a specific topic though (current Govt)... that is what I was pointing out...

As has been mentioned a gazillion times before, a new Labor/Rudd/Gillard thread would be good for those who like to rehash the past constantly.

that's ok.  thanks.

this is just fine.Woman Happy

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Debra,

Within reason, maybe you should have kept going so you always had something negatively geared.

Unless you like paying tax with nothing to offset it.

The last 10 years you would have made a killing if you had had negatively geared property.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Am pleased for you Deb.

I am more concerned for the younger generations though.

and to aps who said rents would sky rocket if you got rid of neg gearing......what rubbish! It would 'hurt' all the elite here and o/seas.....like I care! ....but the property prices would come down a lot and more Australian people who at the moment cannot afford to buy would then be able to buy.

Not rocket science.

The greedy boomer generation like Hockit and maaaates who not only got their education paid for are rolling around in the thick rich mud and are doing NOTHING for our future economy - especially for the younger generation.
