Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

MYEFO: Foreign aid budget slashed by $3.7 billion to boost national security spending

The Government has slashed foreign aid by a further $3.7 billion to help pay for a boost in national security spending, in a move that has angered aid groups.

It means aid spending will return to levels seen during the Howard government, when the budget was in surplus, and grow in line with inflation.

The saving comes on top of the $7.6 billion shaved off foreign aid in the May budget.

"I would think our near neighbours, like PNG, could do with an increased handout too. If Australia doesn't help them, no one else will (countries further away expect Australia to step in)."

Iraq goes from $0 to $22 million

PNG gets $550+ million, The highest country to get aid and we are the largest donor already to them of any countries.

But truthfully now, for what purposes are each of these countries spending the money on?

Look at the dfat web site.

Countries don't always get to choose.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

I love her photos.   Julia Gillard is still a great ambassador for Australia and she has done some amazing things.

Unfortunately photos of prime ministers visiting the troops means about as much as them kissing babies before an election.

What has that to do with the price of eggs? A distraction away from the issues being discussed even IMO.

I should paste a link to an old recipe......'Hodge-Podge On The Go'

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Probably it will be "goodbye" but I am a realist and I suspect that the next govt will also act so self-interestedly as to alienate the voters so that in a very few years' time, we will be back on the merry-go-round with those blue-tie-wearing kids again.

Why can't they all just agree amongst themselves to die their ties purple and be done with it?

Recent polls show a significant slump in support for the LNP, as Mr Newman also faces a stiff challenge in his own seat of Ashgrove.

Labor candidate Kate Jones, who held Ashgrove from 2006 to 2012, announced in September she planned to recontest the seat.

The poll would likely be held in late January or early February, almost two months earlier than expected. LOL Smiley LOL

ROFLMAO !!!!!!!!
